2022: Week 2

Week Two features John Palmeri an incredibly talented stuntman, actor and martial artist. When John agreed to be a part of my project, I knew that I wanted to really focus in on his athleticism by creating silhouettes that showcased his talents. I asked John to bring any cool props he had that were cool, and brought a ton of interesting weapons, but we ended up using the Gladius Sword and a Zhang Fei Spear (aka Serpent Spear).

Another thing I wanted to do with John’s shoot was to stylize the silhouettes into posters or illustrations. You can see the process from photo to silhouette at the end, where I have the original image and the beginning silhouette.

I might have been influenced by Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra for the editing style 😆
